Why NABDH?

A platform for reflection and action to transform the healthcare system in Algeria.

Who are we?

From observation to action: NABDH’s ambition

NABDH is an independent, transdisciplinary, non-profit Algerian platform for analysis, reflection and action. It brings together expertise in Algeria and in the diaspora to contribute to the transformation of the Algerian healthcare system.

Our starting point is simple: the skills, data, initiatives and capacity for innovation exist, but they remain fragmented. Connecting them better can improve the quality of decisions, speed up useful projects and strengthen their impact.

NABDH – Algerian Healthcare Alliance
Why

Purpose and ambition

Our purpose

To build a lasting capacity for analysis, mobilisation, proposals and action in the public interest. NABDH does not take the place of public institutions, learned societies or specialised associations. It builds bridges between stakeholders and supports useful cooperation.

Our ambition

To contribute to a more sovereign, high-performing, equitable, innovative and sustainable healthcare system: a system centred on patients and healthcare professionals, one that makes better use of science, data, field experience and innovation.

How

An alliance designed to analyse, mobilise and act

Our principles

Independence

Our analyses and positions are not determined by the interests of any partner or funder.

Rigour

We favour data, evidence, explicit methods and evaluation.

Transparency

We make sources, contributions, funding and relevant conflicts of interest visible.

Cooperation

We bring organisations together without absorbing them. Each one keeps its autonomy, governance and identity.

Usefulness

Our work must be understandable, usable and tied to the real needs of the healthcare system.

Impact

Wherever possible, we aim to follow analysis with concrete, measurable initiatives.

How we work

NABDH organises its work around six complementary functions:

Map

Build structured knowledge of stakeholders, initiatives, projects and available solutions.

Analyse

Produce studies, barometers, benchmarks and analyses that can be put to direct use.

Mobilise

Bring experts, professionals, decision-makers and organisations together in working groups, consultations and coalitions.

Propose

Draft recommendations, strategy notes, white papers and contributions to public policy.

Disseminate

Open our findings to debate through the media, events, professional networks and international outreach.

Experiment

Where conditions allow, support tools, reference frameworks, pilot projects and voluntary improvement schemes.

Our principle of cooperation

NABDH works with public institutions, healthcare facilities, universities, learned and professional societies, patient associations, youth organisations, international organisations, NGOs, experts, the media and health industry companies.

Each partnership rests on a defined objective, clear roles and rules of transparency. Partners keep their legal autonomy, governance and identity. NABDH cooperates with existing organisations without seeking to absorb them or duplicate their missions.

Cooperation with companies:

Expertise, data, corporate philanthropy or sponsorship can support studies, pilot projects and events. This support gives no editorial control over analyses, conclusions or recommendations.

Our commitments

  • Publish work based on identifiable sources and an explicit method.
  • Declare funding and manage conflicts of interest transparently.
  • Involve the relevant expertise, including the voice of patients and the experience of frontline professionals.
  • Match projects to the resources available and put quality before the number of initiatives.
  • Evaluate results and seek concrete impact on practices, organisations or health policies.

Our direction

NABDH aims to be recognised for the quality of its work, the diversity of its network, its rigour, its scientific credibility and its ability to bring about concrete change.

For a sovereign, equitable and sustainable transformation of the Algerian healthcare system.
